Five weighted factors applied to each tool tested in depth:

• Absorbability (30%): probability that ChatGPT/Claude/Gemini absorbs the core value within 24 months.
• Product moat (25%): proprietary data, specific integrations, network effects, community.
• Test verifiability (20%): usage duration, depth of tested cases, visible paid accounts.
• Distribution (15%): adoption ease, native integrations, English support.
• Evolution speed (10%): release cadence, ability to track the best models.

The separate obsolescence score

Also out of 10. Specifically measures the risk that the core value disappears against big models. A 9/10 Joute score combined with a 4/10 obsolescence signals an excellent tool but short-term commitment. Factor this in before any annual subscription.

The update cycle

Monthly review, first Monday of the month. Re-evaluated: tools with a major release, pricing change, acquisition or repivot, and new catalog entrants (3-8 per month). Every change is logged in the public changelog.
